A BUSHFIRE planning day will be available to all Boonah landholders this weekend as the region enters the summer months.
The Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Consortium (QFBC) and Healthy Land and Water have partnered with the Scenic Rim Regional Council, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and the Rural Fire Service to host the sessions on Saturday, November 20.
The project is supported by the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery Exceptional Assistance Program under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) that were established after the 2019 Queensland Bushfires.
The one day event, held at the Boonah Cultural Centre, is set to focus on fire management roles and responsibilities, fire season planning and preparation, as well as managing fire regimes to protect and enhance native vegetation.
