Rural firefighters from across the western Scenic Rim watched as a portable collar tank was filled with 7,500 litres of water in 10 minutes.
The demonstration was held as part of the launch of the Rural Fires Boonah Group newest fire fighting tool – two 15,000 litre water tanks on a tri-axle trailer.
Boonah Group Officer, Trevor Turner, said the trailer had full airbag suspension and could be hooked onto a prime mover.
“With this set up, we can take 30,000 litres of water for firefighting to anywhere it’s needed.
“We can fill up collar tanks and stationery tanks quickly and efficiently giving fire fighters an even better chance of containing a bushfire.”
The tanks, trailer and equipment are valued at more than $50,000.
