Councillors asked to endorse a new Scenic Rim logo

The region’s distinctive “S” logo is about to be replaced in a bid to move forward as a unified community.

The logo was introduced after the merger of Boonah and Beaudesert shires and inclusion of the Ipswich townships of Harrisville and Peak Crossing in 2008 and was designed to feature the mountains, valleys and waters of the Scenic Rim.

On the basis of a report to council stating the ‘S’ in the logo featured three elements reflecting Beaudesert, Boonah and Ipswich, the council is considering decommissioning the logo in favour of use of an amended version of the Visit Scenic Rim logo.

The report states “as the development of the existing brand relates to the merging of three Councils 13 years ago, it is appropriate for the Scenic Rim Regional Council to no longer be defined by amalgamation”.
