An outlook of change for the Scenic Rim

In last week’s edition of the Fassifern Guardian, Mayor Tom Sharp, made the comment that the state and federal government’s were well overdue in recognising their responsibilities for providing funding to address years of neglect and to support the expected growth and development in the Scenic Rim.

This week, we look at the state government’s push for housing growth in the Scenic Rim, the former council’s response through the Growth Management Strategy it adopted in November last year and just some of the local land developments underway or in the pipeline.

IN THE next 22 years, land in the Scenic Rim must accommodate 8,000 more homes.

It’s not a wish, it’s a demand.
