The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will be required to address hundreds of individual community concerns in a win for impacted residents, announced by the Co-ordinator General.
After reviewing more than 800 submissions made on the Calvert to Kagaru (C2K) Inland Rail line, the Co-ordinator General has called on the ARTC to provide additional information on the project’s environmental impacts.
Last year, concerned residents filled the Peak Crossing Hall to discuss the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The EIS, a 7000-page document, contained the potential impact the rail will have on the community, wildlife, tourism, waterways and air quality.
