Jamie Beattie pours beers and cracks jokes behind the bar at the Roadvale Hotel. 

Then he resumes his spot on a stool on the patrons’ side of the bar with the other regulars. 

Jamie doesn’t work at the pub, he just “gives Jane a hand” when things get busy. 

That’d be Jane Storozenko, barmaid at the Roadvale for the last two decades and, for the past few months, its manager. 

With the pub for sale, her stint as manager might be short lived.
