COACH Rylan has been welcomed to Ashwell State School to work with the students on their touch football skills and build excitement towards the forthcoming Gala Day event.
Principal Dallas Schmidt said the school was currently running a touch football skills development program.
“This program has been supported by funding from the Sporting Schools Grant,” she said.
“After this experience developing and building gross motor skills and coordination, the students will have the opportunity to participate in a Gala Day event, forming teams and competing against other local schools.
“We also aim to build early habits of integrating physical movement into everyday life, setting our students up for a healthy future.
Ms Schmidt said the skills development program was a wonderful opportunity for the students.
“It’s a great team building and sporting opportunity and we are very fortunate that we are able to offer this across all of our classes and year levels.
“Small schools are a great place for children to learn and develop.
“And we are committed to ensuring that our students have access to the same programs and learning that takes place in bigger schools, with a more tailored approach as our team knows every student individually.”
