SURROUNDED by her nearest and dearest Walloon Resident Shirley Robinson celebrated her 80th birthday on October 15 over a special lunch at the Walloon Hotel.
For almost 50 years Shirley has called Walloon home and during this time she has been an active member of the community helping out others where ever help was needed.
A mother of four children - John, Michael, Michelle and Kevin - they described her as a role model who they have always looked up too.Shirley’s brother Bob Siebenhausen said that Shirley is “simply one of a kind who is always there for others, she was at one stage the ironing lady of Walloon and she has made many friends in the area”.
“Celebrating Shirley’s birthday was a special moment to show her just how special she is to everyone else around her,” he said.
“We celebrated this milestone with Shirley at the Walloon Hotel and almost all of the family were able to join us.
“The whole day was very nice and it was great to be able to emphasise just how special she is.
“She is still quite active and she enjoys woodworking, doll making, sewing and cooking and has shared these interests with her children and her growing family of five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.”
