For our Scenic Rim readers it will mean a welcome back to an old friend and for our Ipswich readers it means a hello to a new one.

Over the past year our newspaper has grown at such a rapid rate and the Guardian & Tribune has become the number one selling newspaper in both areas.

When we began our coverage of Ipswich our intention always was, when the time was right, to launch a separate newspaper just for the people of Ipswich. Well, now the time is right.

We are splitting the Guardian & Tribune into the Fassifern Guardian for the Scenic Rim and Ipswich Tribune for Ipswich and the Western Corridor.

These two newspapers will replace our current bi-weekly editions.

Each region has its own industries, cultures and passions and need a newspaper to fight strongly for their community.

The Guardian & Tribune has a strong track record with this and so too will the new newspapers. 

With a laser like focus on each region, the newspapers will be able to make sure readers get exactly what they want.

Today will be the last edition of the singular newspaper and next Wednesday both the Ipswich Tribune and the Fassifern Guardian will hit the shelves

We have the best team in the region writing award-winning journalism about stories that matter to you.

Our newspaper (soon to be newspapers) survive by the support of our readers and advertisers, so we thank you all for giving us the opportunity to thrive and grow to create a better service.

We will be separating the website as well into ipswichtribune.com.au and fassifernguardian.com and existing subscribers will have access to both, as will new subscribers.
