The Boonah Showgrounds set on a 10-year, $15 million path towards becoming a sporting, equine and mobile accommodation hub with the approval of an 11-point Master Plan.
This week, the Scenic Rim Regional Council, in what was described as a marathon process by Show President, John Brent, granted the go ahead for the Society’s vision for the 19-hectare site in the centre of town.
Major developments which feature in the Master Plan are a horse sports centre and an indoor sports centre.
When the Society submitted their plans to the Council earlier this year, Mr Brent told the Guardian & Tribune it was an exciting vision for the future that would provide direction and certainty.
With the gaining of Council approval on Wednesday, he emphasised that … “it’s not something we will be doing tomorrow”.
