You might recognise her from the Beaudesert Woolworths but Riley Day, 21, was a face on everyone’s television screens after her blistering run in the women’s 200m semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday morning.
Riley narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Olympic final on Monday evening when she finished fourth in the semi with a personal best time of 22.56.Earlier that day she ran 22.94 in her heat. She was physically ill following her race.
But missing out on the final didn’t deter the ‘Beaudesert Bullet’ from staying positive about her sprinting future.
“That was a much better race than this morning,” she said.
