Currumbin teenager Keegan Palmer made history on Thursday when he became the first Gold Medallist in the men's park skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics.

Palmer, 18, went into the final ranked at number five but skated his way to victory when it mattered most, scoring a substantial 95.83. 

Pedro Barros from Brazil took silver and Cory Juneau from America took the Bronze. 

Born in San Diego, Palmer relocated to the Gold Coast at a young age and be
