THE Easter weekend may have brought wind and rain but that didn’t stop hundreds of people making the trek to Lake Moogerah.
New managers of Lake Moogerah Camping and Caravan Park Luke Runnalls said the park had been at 100 percent occupancy.
“We also had more than 250 day visitors to site and this was despite Fridays rain and Saturday’s strong wind,” he said.
Mr Runnalls and wife Nicole Gilchrist are new to the park, having moved to the area just two weeks ago.
“We have just had the last of some 400 guests leave,” he said late Monday afternoon, “and everyone seems to have had an amazing time.”
Mr Runnalls said Horticulture Queensland hosted an Easter event at the park, and this involved carrots left suspiciously inside a large barrel the day before Easter.
“The next day children were excited to find a massive inflatable rabbit visitor to the carrots and chocolate eggs that were gifted to them,” he said.
All throughout the Fassifern people came to experience and enjoy hospitality the region is known for.
Jetskis, boats towing inflatables, fishers and swimmers enjoyed time on the blue waters of one of the region’s most popular lakes.
