Outback sculptures show off Maranoa artistic ability

AUSTRALIA is celebrated within the Maranoa region with its Sculptures Out Back Acquisitive Competition and Exhibition.
Each year Maranoa artists take part in an art show that showcases larger than life sculptures made from different mediums including iron, wood and welded steel.
The outdoor ‘walk of art’ is located near the entrance to the town of Roma, with smaller works scattered in the streets.
The aim is for each work of art to enhance social value of the public domain and support tourism.
Artists have their entries judged and are awarded for first impression, creativity, originality, finish, composition and texture.
The sculptures are a tourist attraction and contain QR codes that enable visitors to learn about the artists and their visions for the pieces as they walk through the exhibition.
Each sculpture has a purchase price enabling the visitor to take home something that catches their eye.
