Kalbar’s sunflower celebration will be back “bigger and better” in 2022 after thousands of city dwellers flocked to the Scenic Rim for the inaugural Sunshine and Sunflower Day. 

Lucerne farmer and organiser Jenny Jenner said about more than 4,600 visitors came through over the two days, with the majority coming from Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine coasts. 

“City people are just in awe,” she said on Saturday. 

“To come out in a field of flowers in the country, people are just amazed.”
