A Coulson woman died in a single vehicle accident on the Ipswich Boonah Road, on Friday night (April 11).

Police report that initial investigations indicate that around 10:30pm, a Ford Courier utility was travelling along the Ipswich Boonah Road before it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The crash occurred about 100 metres on the Boonah side of the intersection with the Beaudesert Boonah Road.

The driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Coulson man sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The passenger, a 52-year-old Coulson woman was declared deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone who may have any relevant information or CCTV/dashcam vision to come forward.
