BOONAH Beaudesert Road was reopened after being closed for several hours on Friday morning due to a fatal traffic crash.

Boonah Police reported that a single vehicle traffic accident occurred around 5.30am Friday about 1.5 kilometres west of the entry road to Wyaralong Dam.

There was one fatality - a Beaudesert man, 58, who was the driver and sole occupant. He sustained critical injuries and died at the scene after the ute he was driving left the road and went down an embankment.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the cause of the accident.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.
