A man has been airlifted to the PA Hospital in a serious condition following an industrial accident in Kalbar.

Sargeant Jesse Shaw from Harrisville Police reported that emergency services were called to the Mitre 10 premises around 3.15pm on Monday.

"A truck was being loaded with steel when the load slipped, came off the back of the truck and pinned a 67-year-old man against a shipping container," Sgt Shaw said.

Police, fire and ambulance officers worked to remove the steel and the injured man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit and Workplace Health and Safety officers are investigating the accident.
