A toddler remains in critical condition after he was struck by a car in Church Street, Boonah, on Tuesday afternoon.
And police are calling for anyone who may have been in the vicinity when the accident happened and has dash-cam footage to contact Boonah Police or Crimestoppers.
Boonah Police report that the police and ambulance services were called to the incident at around 4.05pm.
“A vehicle had struck a two-year-old boy, who was treated at the scene and airlifted by the Rescue 500 helicopter to the Queensland Children’s Hospital,” Sen Const Chris Farnan said.
“He was in a critical condition and underwent surgery last night.”
An update on Wednesday morning indicated the child remained in a critical condition.
Church Street was closed until 10pm on Tuesday night as were a number of surrounding streets while specialist police officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the accident.
“Police would like to thank the local residents who assisted us,” Sen Const Farnan said.
