THE Cunningham Highway between Aratula and the Boonah Fassifern Road intersection is expected to be closed for a considerable time this afternoon due to a serious crash between a truck and a van.

Police were called to the accident around 11.15am.

Multiple emergency services remain on the scene.

Traffic coming from the Ipswich side is being diverted onto the Boonah Fassifern Road, into Lake Moogerah Road and then onto Charlwood Road before returning to the Cunningham Highway. Traffic coming from the direction of Cunninghams Gap is also being diverted along this route.

Police are also requesting that motorists avoid the area entirely if possible.

Motorists should also be aware that there is water over the road at Mutdapilly, the Boonah Beaudesert Road is closed and the Mt Alford Road is closed at Harper’s Crossing.
