“The best Club ever!” That’s how newly anointed Life Member, Ken Marsh, described Fassifern Junior Rugby League Football Club.
Mr Marsh, along with Jason Miles and Shane Gillett were awarded Life Memberships at the Club’s recent Trophy Presentation Dinner.
Held at the Aratula Sports Complex, the dinner celebrated the end of the season for players from Under 13s to Under 17s.
Club President, Tim Ryall, described the season as “very positive in the face of trying times”.
Even though the club did not participate in the 2020 season, the players and supporters have returned with enthusiasm this year.
The 2021 season saw the Club again boasting a new record of player registrations.
The president put this continued growth down to the continued efforts of the whole committee and particularly thanked Vice President Robin Gilloway for his efforts within the local community encouraging new players to the game of Rugby League.
He also acknowledged a closer relationship with the Fassifern Senior Rugby League Club, which will provide a pathway for juniors into senior football in years to come.
