Walking in the maze to take photos in the ‘field of a million flowers’ was just one of the crowd pleasers at the three day Kalbar Sunflower Festival. The need to don gumboots and the occasional need to ‘put up the brolly’ didn’t deter the 12,000 ticketholders in an event which won rave reviews. Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe officially opened the festival and praised the festival founders Russell and Jenny Jenner “for their dedication and commitment to this beautiful event”.
