STUDENTS from All Saints’ Primary School were given the opportunity to learn more about cycling and scooting safely on the roads when Boonah’s Acting Sgt, Chris Farnan and fellow Fassifern and Ipswich Police officers visited, last week.

Sgt Farnan explained the importance of road safety rules when riding a bike or scooter. He was assisted by parent, Toby Gowland and officers such as Sgt Travis Ehrich, Sgt Brad Trueman, Sgt Matt Rowe and Senior Constable Andrew Conway, all of whom donated their time.

Following the learning of the road rules, students from Prep to Year 6 demonstrated their understanding of them by riding or scooting around a course through the school grounds gaining further instruction from the officers.

The highlight for students was riding around the town, accompanied by a police escort to ensure their safety as they cycled along the streets of Boonah.
