2021 graduates’ results released

More than 27,000 students across Queensland woke up last Friday morning (December 17) to the release of their Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) scores.

Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) CEO, Dr John Griffiths, said it was pleasing to see students qualifying for their ATAR with a range of general subjects, applied subjects and vocational education and training qualifications.

“This reinforces the broad education system that we have in Queensland and the range of opportunities available to students,” he said.

“I congratulate all students that have achieved an ATAR but remind students that in addition to the ATAR there are a range of other options for accessing post school education.”

52 percent of the total Queensland Year 12 cohort received an ATAR score, which will pave the way for tertiary offers to be released by QTAC for students on December 23.

Ipswich Girls Grammar Director of Enrolments, Stacey Hennelly said the 2021 seniors had maintained the school’s proud history of academic excellence in its 129th year.

5.4 percent of Ipswich Girls Grammar School graduates achieved an ATAR greater than or equal to 99 (top 1 percent in Queensland).

The schools 2021 Dux, Tharani Murugananthan was awarded the 2021 Miss Tatham’s Memorial Prize for Dux of the School at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School’s Scholars’ Assembly.

“Tharani’s dedication to her studies is evident, but she also made time to represent the School in Basketball, Netball, Debating and Community Service,” Ms Hennelly said.

“A scan of the School’s Scholars’ Wall shows that our highest achieving students – ATAR and OP – took every opportunity to be actively involved in a broad range of activities at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School.

“17 percent of ATAR-eligible students received an ATAR greater than or equal to 95.00.

“Congratulations to all IGGS Seniors for maintaining the School’s proud history of academic excellence: a testament to the students’ diligence, parental support, excellence in teaching and the School’s unique culture that inspires girls to become confident, well-educated young women.

“The Seniors’ individual and collective achievements across all parts of their holistic education – academic, sport, Arts, service, social and personal development – show our Seniors’ remarkable diligence, perseverance, resilience, and aspiration.

“The students found encouragement and guidance in each other, their committed teachers, support staff and most importantly, their family networks.”
