Fassifern Netball’s Rep Teams’ Bake Stall was a huge success, funding an upcoming professional training clinic.
THE call went out for financial support of Fassifern Netball’s three representative teams and Association officials were impressed by the response.
Eight local businesses are backing the 11/12, 13/14 and 15/16 teams this year, meaning all 27 players will be kitted in red, white and blue Fassi gear.
Fassifern Netball Association president Amanda Dover said that sponsorship helped lower the cost of apparel for representative players, which can be a barrier for some families.
She thanked businesses Her Herd Boutique, Ivory Rock Caravan & Camping, Boonah Dental, MG Wood Shavings, DJM Farming, Hayes & Co., Kalfresh and Dover & Sons for their support.
“Not only do we want our players to look and feel the part, but we also want them to have access to the best development opportunities,” Amanda said.
“The cost of a professional clinic seemed out of reach, but after raising more than $1,374 in the weekend bake stall, we can now bring an elite netballer and professional coach from NETFIT to Boonah.
“We’re excited to see the pro-skills, drills and nutrition advice they bring to help elevate our local teams’ confidence ahead of their first Darling Downs carnival in Warwick on March 30.”
