Dedicated Fassifern netballers receive special thanks

FASSIFERN Netball Association (FNA) players, coaches, managers, umpires and supporters recently celebrated the success of the latest season at their annual presentation night.

The function was held at The Vue, recognising the contributions of many people.

Lauren Gibson accepts the Volunteer of the Year Award from association officials Amanda Dover and Tracey Rieck.

Lauren Gibson received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedication to the association in all aspects - including coaching, umpiring, mentoring and leadership as a club and FNA representative.

Ruby Dover and Jessica Munday received the Umpiring Encouragement Awards for their fine commitment learning how to umpire and gaining more confidence every week.

Trophies were awarded to teams across the four divisions and for outstanding individual efforts.

Intermediate winner: Red Flames. Runner up: Yellow Minions. Team Encouragement: Green Griffins.

Cadets Division. winner: Panthers. Runner up: Ferrets. Team Encouragement: 11/12 Rep.

Open Division B winner: 15/16 Rep. Runner up: 13/14 Rep.

Open Division A winner: FitUp. Runner up: Ball Or Nothing.

FNA’s representative teams received their plaques and were honoured with some special awards.

11/12 Rep Coaches Award: Elizabeth Hartmann.

11/12 Rep Spirit of Fassi Award: Olivia Tomlinson.

13/14 Rep Coaches Award: Abby Brennan.

13/14 Rep Spirit of Fassi Award: Charlotte Lomax

15/16 Rep Coaches Award: Abby Navie.

15/16 Rep Spirit of Fassi Award: Charlotte Rieck.

Intermediate coaches Zoe Eggleston, Cass Christensen, Charlotte Rieck, Kasey Payne, Corinne Cause, Jodie Vanstone and Lauren Gibson were honoured on the night.

Outgoing FNA executive team members Tracey Rieck (secretary) and Janet Samios (vice-president) were thanked on the night.

“Both of these ladies have given so much to our association and they will be truly missed by everyone,” FNA official Sonya Gibson said.

“Tracey and Janet have given so much of their time and effort into making our association better. We wish them both all the best in their future endeavours.”

Tracey and Janet’s roles will be filled at this month’s AGM.
