Rebels setting the standard in Fassi competition
1 min read

DEFENDING premiers Rebels can increase their winning advantage with two victories in Saturday’s Fassifern vigoro competition.

After becoming the first team this season to achieve that last month, Rebels secured their fourth win in a row against Aussies last weekend.

Rebels’ latest 25 run success was set up by Alyssa Gilloway who scored a valuable 30, following some other handy recent scores.

In-form bowler Maz Watterson also played a vital role snaring 6-24, helping restrict Aussies to 53.

Opener Brooke Noe top scored for Aussies with 21.

In the second game of the latest ‘V Bash’ shorter format series, Funtastics defeated Aussies by nine runs.

Ever-dependable Emma Gnech snared 5-10 for Funtastics, as they kept Aussies to a 50-run total.

Rhiannon Eastwell was Aussies top scorer with 21. She also took 4-10.

Rebels’ winning doubleheader opportunity comes after they earlier beat Funtastics by 45 runs, following their two wins on one day against Funtastics (by 14 runs) and Aussies (by 28 runs).

With the first pennants round against Ipswich on November 23, Fassi representative players will be keen to fine-tune their performances.
