Tennis committee re-elected for new seasons
1 min read

FASSIFERN Tennis Association [FTA] officials are ready to serve up more competitive opportunities in the region after a settled start to the New Year.

All FTA committee members were re-elected at the January 24 AGM at the Boonah courts.

Association president Graham Prickett will continue in his fourth term, having overseen a stable period of facility funding improvements.

He held his position along with secretary Bernie Blair, vice-president Jenny Beasley and treasurer Rachael McNiven.

After an off-season break, the committee is organising the return of the Sunday Mixed Competition on March 3 and Midweek Ladies series from March 6.

Practice hit-ups are being offered on February 18 for the Sunday competition and February 21 and 28 for the Wednesday morning play.

A working bee is planned on February 25 with a hit-up afterwards.

Long-time tennis enthusiast Maz Verrall welcomes all players to enjoy the social or more competitive matches, which she said built lasting friendships.

“I’m so excited for another amazing year of tennis,” Maz said.

Maz said players wanting an early year hit or to hone their skills can join Thursday night sessions being run at the Aratula community courts, weather permitting.
