Three charged on Peak Crossing burglary
Investigations by Harrisville Police into a burglary in Truloff Road, Peak Crossing resulted in three people from Blackstone being charged with a total of 10 offences including burglary, fraud and receiving stolen property.
A man, 43, and a woman, 30, have both been issued Notices to Appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court in March and another man, 33, has been remanded in custody to reappear in Court on March 17.
Drug related charges
A Allandale woman, 37, was issued a Notice to Appear in court after police intercepted her driving a vehicle at Frenches Creek on Friday afternoon. During a vehicle search, police found a quantity of drug implements used for smoking dangerous drugs. She is due to appear in court on March 26.
False plates, no licence, no rego, no insurance
A Peak Crossing man, 34, was charged with driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle with false plates and driving without a licence when he was intercepted by police driving the vehicle in Fassifern Street, Peak Crossing on Friday evening. He is due to appear in Court on March 9. As this was the man’s second Type 2 offence, the vehicle was immobilised for seven days.
A Victoria Point man, 60, was issued infringement notices for driving an unregistered and uninsured car after he was stopped by officers from the Ipswich Road Policing Unit travelling on the Cunningham Highway, Aratula on Saturday. Checks revealed the vehicle’s registration had been expired for more than 30 days. He has been fined a total of $853.
Drug and drink driving
An Aratula man, 24, was charged with drug driving after officers from the Ipswich Road Policing Unit intercepted a vehicle on Church Street, Boonah on Saturday morning for a roadside drug test. He returned a positive result and is due to appear in Court later this month.
A Riverview man, 31, was charged with drink driving after he was intercepted driving a vehicle in Peak Crossing on Saturday morning. He is due to appear in court on March 19. A reading of 0.083% will be alleged.
A Boonah man, 27, was issued a Notice to Appear for drink driving after police intercepted him driving a vehicle on Hoya Road, Boonah on Saturday night. He provided a roadside breath test which was positive. He was returned to Boonah Station for a further test which was also positive. As the driver holds a Provisional class licence he was required to have a zero BAC. He is due to appear in court March 22. A reading of 0.024% will be alleged.
10 day pub bans
Two men involved in separate incidents have been banned by police from drinking at their local pub for 10 days.
The first was a Boonah man who was banned from drinking at the Australian Hotel for 10 days as a result of two public nuisance incidents.
This follows an investigation by Boonah Police in relation to an incident late on the night of January 29 and another on the afternoon on January 30.
On Sunday, police went to a Boonah address and spoke with a 48-year-old man. He was subsequently issued with two public nuisance infringement notices and a liquor infringement notice. He was also issued a Banning Notice excluding him from the hotel for a period of 10 days.
On Friday, police were called to the Royal Hotel in Kalbar around 10pm following a report that a man had caused a disturbance.
As a result, a Bundamba man, 26, was issued with an Infringement Notice for public nuisance inside a licensed venue.
He was also issued a Banning Notice excluding him from the hotel for a period of 10 days. In addition, he was given a “move on” direction after continuing his behaviour outside the hotel.
He has been fined $800 for his behaviour.
Traffic accident leads to court appearance
Police were called to a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Teviotville Road, Kalbar at around 1am on Saturday.
When police arrived, they found that both occupants had exited the vehicle and were uninjured.
The driver was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive result. As a result, a Kalbar man, 25, was detained at the scene by police. He was later charged with failing to supply a specimen of blood for analysis as a driver involved in a traffic crash.
He is due to appear in court on March 22.
