New Rosewood Station Officer in Charge

On Saturday (August 14), Detective Sergeant Travis Ehrich will be the new Officer in Charge of the Rosewood Station.

Travis was appointed after successfully applying for the position vacated by Sergeant Lindsay Kuhrt. Travis has worked within the Ipswich CIB for the last eight years.

He has a wealth of knowledge and is looking forward to working with the community and improving relationships with the residents in the Rosewood Division.

Covid lockdowns        

The State Government has eased restrictions on the current lockdown in the 11 LGA areas which includes Rosewood and district.

 Police have been enforcing the current restrictions which were put in place to ensure the safety of all Queenslanders during this time.

While no Penalty Infringement Notices were issued by Rosewood Police. There were several calls from members of the public reporting possible breaches of the lockdowns, which were all investigated by police. Rosewood Police were satisfied that most households were able to abide by the lockdown order.

Police, however, did issue a number of warnings to motorists who were travelling for reasons that did not comply with the current restrictions.

Several people were also directed to return to Rosewood Railway Station and return to their homes after travelling to Rosewood for various reasons via train.

Eased restrictions

With the easing of restrictions from Sunday, police would like to remind all residents that there are still a number of restrictions in place for the next two weeks. Please comply with the following directions:

•          Mask wearing at all times (including workplaces) except when eating or drinking or exercising with your household or one other person

•          School will reopen with staff and high school student wearing masks**

•          10 people in your home including those who live there

•          20 people at weddings and funerals

•          Businesses and venues 1 person per 4sqm

•          Community sport not permitted

•          Avoid travelling to regional Qld

•          Visitors allowed in hospitals, aged care and disability accommodation.

Greet Road crash

Police were called to a single vehicle traffic crash on Greet Road, The Bluff at around 10.25pm on Monday (August 2).

Initial investigations reveal the sole male occupant lost control while travelling along the road and collided with a pole.

The driver was transported to Ipswich General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Investigations into the cause of the accident are continuing.

Single vehicle accident Rosewood    

Police were called to a single vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Rosewood Warrill View Road and Ebenezer Road, Rosewood at around 11.00am on Tuesday (August 3).      

Initial investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle was travelling in the direction of Rosewood when he failed to negotiate the bend in the road. As a result, the vehicle continued straight on through a property fence and collided with a tree.

The male driver was transported to Ipswich Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is requested to contact Rosewood Police.

Rosewood Station Administration Officer Katie Wickman is currently on secondment to Ipswich District Office. While Katie is away, Sue Duffy from Ipswich Station will be relieving in Katie’s position.
