A Queensland Police Service vehicle and a truck have been involved in a serious road accident on the Cunningham Highway at Warrill View.

Police said emergency services were advised around 1pm of the incident.

It's understood as a result of the impact, the police car left the road and travelled several metres through long grass before coming to a stop in a paddock.

The truck had flipped and was on its side across two lanes.

Multiple emergency vehicles responded and a patient was taken to hospital by helicopter.

The Cunningham Highway near Warrill View Peak Crossing Road is expected to remain closed for several hours as forensic crash unit investigations are carried out at the scene.
